Six weeks into our Sods Strive Together Walk and Talk group, and we’re delighted to say that it’s going brilliantly.

What started as a simple idea — to create a space where people could get active, connect, and support one another — is already growing into something really special.

Each week we’re meeting new faces, and the group has quickly developed a welcoming atmosphere where people feel comfortable joining conversations, sharing experiences, and simply enjoying time together.

Participants regularly tell us how much they value the walks themselves, but just as importantly the opportunity to talk with different people in a relaxed and supportive environment. For many, it’s become something they genuinely look forward to each week.

Alongside the walks, we’ve also enjoyed a range of fascinating short talks. Some have come from members within the group and others from people connected to the club — and every week brings something new that sparks conversation and learning.

It’s also been fantastic to see people encouraging one another to stay active during the week. From additional walks to balance and mobility exercises, the group is helping people build confidence and improve their overall wellbeing.

Above all, the group has quickly become a small support network — a place where people feel welcome, connected, and part of something positive.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the initiative so far, and especially to our brilliant group host Chris, whose energy and encouragement have helped make the sessions such a success.

The group meets every Friday from 10am to 12pm and it’s open to anyone who would like to join.

If you’re reading this and think you might benefit, please do come along. And if you know someone who might enjoy it, we’d really appreciate you sharing this with them. New faces are always welcome.
